Working with Citizens UK, Greater Olaide (Year 13) co-chaired the Mayoral assembly at Peterborough college last week to an audience of over 200 people including local MPs, councillors, CEOs, and 3 of the Mayoral candidates. Greater was outstanding, his presence captivated the audience and his delivery of a complicated and extensive script was faultless. We couldn't be prouder of him!
Each Mayoral candidate pledged that within their first 3 months in office, they will:
- Convene a strategic housing meeting with all local authorities in partnership with Peterborough Citizens.
- Create a school notification system when young people are placed in temporary accommodation or declared homeless.
- Increase affordable and social housing across the region.
- Improve standards in social housing and privately rented homes.
- Prioritise the journeys of young people to education, work, and recreation.
- Extend the Tiger Pass at £1.
- Install new bus stops at ARU Peterborough and Nene Park Trust.
All powerful changes for our families 💪
